Mum’s the word

Posted on November 23, 2012January 5, 2014 by vikki

My mum has been staying with us for a few days so we thought while she was up here it was probably time that she and Jam’s mum met each other (the dads were ruled out as Jam’s was busy and mine was boring and stayed at home). Jam’s mum drove to ours and was Read more about Mum’s the word[…]

together for evermore (I hope)

Posted on November 12, 2012July 28, 2013 by vikki

This week at woodschool I finally got Jam’s spoon glued back together. I did think for a long time about abandoning the project altogether but it took me a year to get it all carved and as my teacher reminded me even if I started all over again there was no guarantee that the new Read more about together for evermore (I hope)[…]

Posted on November 7, 2012June 22, 2014 by vikki

Earlier this year Jam became a member of our local brewery the excellent Loose Cannon Brewery. It was a new start up in 2010 and as Abingdon hadn’t had a brewery since the much missed Morland (who beautiful tile you can see below and which can be found on the side of all pubs past Read more about I do enjoy a good brew[…]

Posted on November 4, 2012September 28, 2013 by vikki

(The finished windows at the end of day two). This was the week of my first stained glass lesson at Ardington School of crafts. Ardington is lovely & going back to the old school house really felt like going home. You’ll remember that before I went I did some research into the type of window Read more about My first stained glass class[…]

Halloween

Posted on November 1, 2012December 7, 2012 by vikki

We wanted a big party this year but with the house still being a bit of a state we decided on Harry Potter and scary cakes at Maddie & Jonny’s. We took the Potter and the fantastic Lilly Vanilli’s A Zombie Stole my Cupcake (Jam bought this for me when we first started dating knowing Read more about Halloween[…]

A first for the arucana babies

Posted on October 30, 2012 by vikki

My little Arucana babies are growing up. I went to clean them out at the weekend and to my surprise (as we didn’t think they would start laying till next year) this awaited me. I think its from Carmen as she seems to have gained a red wattle above her beak where there others are Read more about A first for the arucana babies[…]

A weekend in Shropshire

Posted on October 22, 2012September 24, 2013 by vikki

This weekend Jam and I packed our bags and headed off for a weekend in Shropshire with my mum and dad. They had rented a very nice 2 bedroom self catering apartment in ‘the wilds’ (a nice bit of countryside just outside Ludlow). They were able to pick up the keys from half past three Read more about A weekend in Shropshire[…]

I’ve got the blues

Posted on October 18, 2012 by vikki

I’ve been a bit ill this week but before the lurgi took hold I had a very productive weekend making earrings. I didn’t really realise until I lined them all up that they are all blue or feature blue in a pretty major way. I’m waiting for confirmation if myself and neighbour Trish (yes she Read more about I’ve got the blues[…]

Giddy stratospheres

Posted on October 9, 2012August 27, 2013 by vikki

So this evening myself and my friend Bex paid a visit to Abingdon fair. We were mostly there to win toys for her nephews & nieces (I had a go at playing darts to win Jam a toy fox too but the less said about that the better). Bex was a little late so I Read more about Giddy stratospheres[…]

The arrival of our new rescues

Posted on October 7, 2012January 13, 2014 by vikki

We rescued 3 more beautiful ex-battery girls this weekend. So a big welcome to Myrtle (stood in the foreground) and her sisters Luna and Helena. We had a bit of a hectic time picking them up as alas James car decided not to start, so I had to go by taxi. Thankfully we had some Read more about The arrival of our new rescues[…]
