This week at woodschool I finally got Jam’s spoon glued back together. I did think for a long time about abandoning the project altogether but it took me a year to get it all carved and as my teacher reminded me even if I started all over again there was no guarantee that the new bit of wood wouldn’t have a similar natural fault. Anyway here’s what it looked like before
and after a bit of careful glueing my vision in wood finally matched the design in my workbook that I’d first drawn.
