The make in my head

A while ago while browsing the fantastic Masons fabric shop. I came across this fantastic remnant. Sometimes when I pick up a remnant I know immediately what I want to make out of it, with this I wasn’t sure I just knew I had to have it!

A chain or strange events then followed. I found a mass of back bias binding in the spare room, chunky black bias binding which I had forgotten I owned, plus I got sent (mysteriously) a la redoute plus siz a nose)e catalogue (i’m not a plus size but I love looking at clothing so I had a look and stumbled across this beauty (note how it matches our dining chairs…). Now all I can think of is a black and white version with the fabric I’ve got, I think it would look amazing!

But where would you wear this get up I hear you cry? Well fantastic sewing blogger Karen from Did you make that? has organised a sewing meet up to go and see the new (and by goodness doesn’t it look interesting) Ballgown ex.hibit at the V&A.(and you would obviously have to wear something you’d made which leaves me with many eevening dresses oh and a charming Austen number, maybe not…)

Karen is going on a Friday night and the sensible bit of my brain said REALLY Vikki? Will you make it for that time on a Friday night when you are all tired from Workee. Then the fun seeking bit saw the words Alexander McQueen and before I knew what was going on I appeared to have booked at ticket! So very excited to meet Karen and the rest of the sewing bloggers & as everyone will be attending in their own creations I guess unfinished black & white object no 1 has a deadline!
